KCCA FC go six points clear as Express get back to winning ways

KCCA FC yesterday went six points clear on the Star times premier league table after edging BUL FC 2-0 in match day 19 at Lugogo.

Second half goals from Patrick Kaddu and Sulaiman Mike Mutyaba were enough to hand the 12 times league champions the victory that sent them six points clear of second placed Vipers who could only manage a one all draw with Tooro united in Fort Portal.

Kaddu’s goal was from a howler by Bul’s number one Hannington Ssebawalunya.

In the 68th minute, after a routine catch,  Ssebawalunya attempted to bounce the ball before restart, only for Kaddu to pounce on it from behind before it touched the ground and set him self up for an easy finish.

The visiting players attempted to contest referee Shamira Nabadda’s decision to point to the center but in vain, Kaddu was at this time already in the corner flag pulling his signature monkey dance as he celebrated his ninth goal of the season.

At this time, KCCA FC had grown back into the game and the introduction of Mike Mutyaba had added them more impetus going forward.

In the 79th minute, Mutyaba tapped home the second for KCCA FC to pull them away from the struggling visitors.

Before the final whistle, Mutyaba could have added a second with a cracking free kick from over 40 yards that hit the cross bar and appeared to bounce in but the lady at the centre was not convinced that the ball had crossed the line.

The garbage collectors had completed a double against Peter Onen’s side having won 2-1 in the first round and kept their position top of the log with 44 points while the visitors remain fourth with 3o points.

In Mbarara, Nyamityobora fell to Express FC in their 13th loss of the season.

Goals from newbies Frank Tumwesige” Zaga” and Brian Umony earned George Semwogerere’s Express FC their first win in the second round

Express is now 10th with 24 points while Nyamityobora is second last near the bottom of the league pile.

The league goes into recess till Wednesday 20th February.
