The cultural leader of the Bamasaba, Umukuka Dr. Bob Mushikori has warned his subjects against dodging circumcision saying even dead bodies will be circumcised.

The Umukuka sounded the warning during Inemba celebrations in Bukikaye village, Bududa district.

The celebration officially marks the end of the circumcision season in Bugisu.

It is the day when young freshly circumcised adults are passed out. It usually falls between August and December.

Mushikori said dodging the highly valued cultural practice is risky.

"Don't hide because if you do, we shall get you. Even when you are dead and not yet circumcised, you will be," Mushikori said.

Clad in hides, hundreds of the recently circumcised Bagisu boys together with their parents spent hours dancing while holding painted traditional sticks and drinks as they celebrated Inemba.

Unlike other festivities, the Inemba was held in the middle of a banana plantation in Bukikaye village Bumakuma Parish, Manjiya sub-county Bududa district.

After crowning the young men, Mushikori warned those who have reached puberty stage against dodging circumcision.

He cautioned his subjects against rape and other evil practices.
