Uganda Cup: Express book another date with Police FC in round of 16

Express FC have been pitted against Police FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 draws held on Wednesday.

The ten time winners will play try to overturn the result of both team’s previous league game in which the cops detained the Red Eagles at their own garrison in Wankulukuku two days ago.

The loss saw the club sack their head coach Kefa Kisala and his entire backroom staff to usher in former player George Ssemwogerere.

The round of 16 draws will now see newcomer Ssemwogerere lock horns with Abdalla Mubiru at Wankulukuku between February 14 and 19 and the winner will proceed to the quarterfinals.

In other games, SC Villa tormentors, Nkambi Coffee from Masaka will visit Nebbi Central FC in Nebbi whereas emerging Big League giants Kyetume FC from Mukono will visit Kitara FC in Hoima.

This is the 45th edition of the Uganda Cup that started in 1971.

Express FC and KCCA FC on ten times are the most successful teams in the second most prestigious competition in Ugandan football.

KCCA FC are the defending champions.

The winners of the tournament will walk home with shs40 million and shs.20 million whereas semifinalists and quarter finalists will get shs10 million and shs5 million respectively.
