Atuhairwe was installed on Monday, July 14, 2026, during a colourful ceremony attended by Rotarians, partners and community leaders.
Presiding over the installation, Rtn. Daniel Damulira commended members of the club, popularly known as the “Forest Hillers”, for their commitment to service and resilience, urging them to build on the foundation established since the club’s formation.
In her acceptance speech, President Atuhairwe called on members to make Rotary’s core principle of “Service Above Self” a daily practice through meaningful action in their communities.
“Service Above Self is more than a motto. It is a way of life. True leadership is found in lifting others up, and the greatest reward comes from making a difference in someone else’s life,” she said.
She challenged Rotarians to translate fellowship into practical service by volunteering, mentoring young people, supporting humanitarian initiatives and using their professional skills to address community challenges.
“Let us work together with compassion, integrity and fellowship to transform lives and strengthen our communities. Every act of service matters. Service is practised every day through kindness, generosity, leadership and compassion,” Atuhairwe said.
The chief guest, Edith Tusuubira, Commissioner at the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, praised the Rotary Club of Muyenga Forest Hills for its contribution to education, clean water access, financial inclusion, consumer protection and community empowerment.
She described Atuhairwe as a leader with the vision, character and empathy required to guide the club towards greater achievements.
“Carol does not just see the Rotary Club of Muyenga Forest Hills as it is today; she sees what it can become. She is a woman of her word. Her moral compass is aligned with the North Star of ‘Service Above Self,’” Tusuubira said.
She also praised Atuhairwe’s leadership style, describing her as a leader who listens and understands the needs of both members and the wider community.
“She listens more than she speaks. And because she listens, she understands the needs of the members and the needs of the community,” Tusuubira said.
However, she cautioned that the success of the new leadership would depend on collective effort from members, the board and senior Rotarians.
“Even a President with the capacity of Carol cannot do this alone. The capacity of a President is often unlocked by the commitment of the members. I call upon the Board, senior Rotarians and new members to support her with wisdom, experience, innovation and energy,” she said.
Tusuubira expressed confidence in Atuhairwe’s leadership, saying the club was set for greater impact.
“We are in safe hands. We are in capable hands. Under the leadership of President Carol, the Rotary Club of Muyenga Forest Hills will not just function — it will flourish. It will not just serve — it will transform,” she said.
Under Atuhairwe’s leadership, the club is expected to focus on sustainable development initiatives, youth empowerment, humanitarian service and strategic partnerships aimed at creating lasting community impact.
Closing her address, Atuhairwe called on members to remain united in advancing Rotary’s mission.
“Together, let us live Service Above Self,” she told members.
