Sam Ndagije has been installed as the new President of the Rotary Club of Mgahinga Kisoro during a leadership transition ceremony held at Ichumbi Hotel in Kisoro Municipality.
The event also saw the induction of eight new members into the club and brought together members of the Rotary Club of Mgahinga and the Rotaract Club of Mgahinga. The newly installed leaders received instruments of office from the outgoing leadership.
In his acceptance remarks, Ndagije commended the outgoing leadership for laying a strong foundation for the club’s growth. He called on members to remain committed to Rotary’s mission, noting that this year’s theme, “Creating Lasting Impact,” will guide the club’s efforts in delivering meaningful and sustainable community service.
Outgoing Rotary Club President Alex Mushime applauded members for their teamwork, saying the club’s achievements were a result of collective effort.
“I pledge my continued support to the new leadership to ensure the club continues to grow and serve the community effectively,” Mushime said.
During the same ceremony, Moses Baganizi was installed as the new President of the Rotaract Club of Mgahinga, taking over from Mark Niyonkuru.
Moses said joining Rotaract had transformed his life and encouraged more young people to become members so they can actively contribute to community development.
Speaking as the chief guest, Assistant Rotary District Governor Apollo Ampumuza urged Rotarians and Rotaractors to regularly assess their projects and measure their impact in improving communities.
He encouraged the clubs to focus on initiatives that create sustainable solutions and deliver lasting benefits to the people they serve.
