The partnership brings together the beverage brand and the Kampala-based streetwear collective behind Speedball Summer to promote youth creativity, self-expression and cultural innovation through an event that blends fashion, music and art.
Organisers said the collaboration is anchored in Guinness Smooth’s Make It Yours campaign, which seeks to inspire young people to embrace their individuality and transform their passions into opportunities.
The campaign will also feature an immersive runway experience designed to celebrate originality, creativity and personal expression.
Hosted by Speedball Mag, Speedball Summer has grown into one of Kampala’s leading youth-driven cultural events, providing a platform for emerging designers, stylists, models, photographers, musicians and other creatives to showcase their work.
This year’s edition will feature a fashion runway accompanied by a live orchestra, bringing together fashion, music and performance in an experience organisers describe as a unique celebration of creativity.
Guinness Uganda Brand Manager Denise Paula Nazzinda said the partnership reflects the brand’s commitment to nurturing Uganda’s creative industry by creating opportunities for young talent.
“At Guinness Smooth, we believe creativity has the power to shape culture and inspire new possibilities. Through our ‘Make It Yours’ campaign, we are committed to creating opportunities for young creatives to express themselves boldly and showcase their talents on platforms that matter,” Nazzinda said.
She added that Speedball Summer aligns with Guinness Smooth’s vision of celebrating authenticity, community and fearless self-expression.
“Partnering with Speedball Summer is a natural fit because they have built a movement that celebrates authenticity, community, and fearless self-expression. Together, we are creating an experience that encourages every creative to own their story, own their style, and truly Make It Yours,” she said.
Founded as a streetwear brand, Speedball has expanded into a wider creative movement promoting Ugandan fashion, youth entrepreneurship and local storytelling.
Through fashion events, collaborations and networking opportunities, the collective has created a platform where young creatives can connect, collaborate and showcase their work.
Organisers said the partnership also reflects Guinness Smooth’s continued investment in Uganda’s creative economy by supporting platforms that encourage innovation, collaboration and cultural expression.
They added that the collaboration is designed to give young creatives greater visibility while creating an environment where fashion, music, art and culture intersect.
Speedball Summer will take place on August 1 at Motiv in Bugolobi. Front Row tickets are priced at Shs125,000, while Standard tickets cost Shs85,000 and are available online through Quicket Uganda.
