Apaa land wrangle: Attackers burn houses, exhume bodies

BENSON ONGOM

As fresh attacks loom over Apaa, the unknown attackers are trying to exhume bodies from homes leaving the houses with paint marks in the area.

By yesterday, more homes were still being burnt.

Some of the mothers who talked to The Nile Post said they had been left stranded without food, water and  clothes for their children.

"We are living in fear that they could attack us any time soon. We have no where else to go," one of them said.

So far the displaced people have been relocated to Juka Centre, a temporary settlement camp.

In the villages, the attackers are wrecking havoc.

In what looks like a traditional ritual, the Apaa attackers are exhuming bodies and tampering with graves at the homes of the locals.

Some locals had started putting up new structures with iron sheets. These structures are now in ruins.
