Addressing journalists at the party headquarters, Nampala expressed gratitude to the people of Kalangala and everyone who participated in her campaign, particularly those who traversed the district's islands to canvass for votes.
"I thank all of you who were involved in the campaign. I thank the people of Kalangala. Thank you for voting for me," she said. "I know you voted for me in large numbers, and I know I won the election."
Nampala alleged that the official results did not reflect the will of the electorate, claiming her victory had been stolen.
"We did not lose. They robbed our votes," she told supporters. "But even if they rob us, we shall continue fighting. One day, we will reach where we are going."
She did not present evidence to support the allegation.
Despite rejecting the outcome, Nampala urged her supporters to remain steadfast and continue pursuing their political goals through peaceful and lawful means.
"Keep fighting, people. We know what we want," she said, encouraging supporters not to lose hope despite the outcome of the by-election.
The Kalangala District Woman MP by-election attracted significant political attention, with several major political parties competing for the seat.
The official results declared another candidate the winner. However, Nampala's remarks underscore her rejection of the outcome and her contention that the electoral process did not accurately reflect the choice of voters.
