Salamtel Uganda, Salam TV Move Toward Strategic Media-Telecom Partnership

By | June 20, 2026

Salamtel Uganda is moving closer to a formal media and telecommunications alliance after its officials toured Next Media Park and held discussions with Salam TV on a potential strategic partnership.

The proposed collaboration would combine media and telecom services, including mobile connectivity, data bundles, eSIM solutions, mobile wallet services, and platforms for Zakat and Sadaqah payments.

During the visit, Salamtel Uganda officials toured Next Media’s studios and key technical departments to assess the infrastructure that could support joint media and telecommunications service delivery under the proposed arrangement.

A strategic meeting between Salam TV and Salamtel Uganda concluded that both organizations share closely aligned missions, visions and values. Based on that alignment, the two sides agreed that the next step should be the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to formalize cooperation.

Hajj Karim Kaliisa, Managing Director of Salam TV and Salam Charity, said organizations carrying the “Salam” brand are often associated with Salam TV.

“Companies with ‘Salam’ in their name are usually recognized as part of Salam TV. So if Salamtel Uganda joins Salam TV, it will be easier for them since we’re available to guide and provide all the support they need,” Kaliisa said.

Officials from Salamtel Uganda noted that the company has long operated with goals, values and a vision similar to those of Salam TV. They added that many stakeholders already associate the telecom company with Salam TV, a perception that has contributed to growing interest in closer collaboration.

According to officials, the proposed partnership is viewed as both timely and necessary, with the foundations for cooperation already in place and stakeholders on both sides expressing readiness to move forward.

If finalized, the memorandum of understanding would allow Salamtel Uganda to leverage Salam TV’s media reach and audience engagement platforms, while enabling Salam TV to broaden its service offering through access to telecommunications solutions.

The partnership is expected to create opportunities for integrated digital services and strengthen the ability of both organizations to reach and serve their respective audiences.
