Kampala Kindergarten Association (KKA) has officially launched its year-long 75th anniversary celebrations, marking decades of academic excellence with a vibrant display of teamwork and enthusiasm during its annual Sports Day in Nsambya.

The milestone announcement was made by Peter Mboowa, representing the Board of Trustees and KKA management, as parents and students gathered to commemorate the institution’s legacy.

While addressing parents, the board reflected on KKA’s longstanding reputation and called upon alumni to actively participate in the celebrations.

“Our focus is centered around a new era of excellence. We are proactively navigating modern challenges to ensure KKA remains a beacon of excellence,” Mboowa said.

He outlined the school’s forward-looking vision, adding, “By 2029, we plan to have a fully integrated holistic curriculum that fuses digital-based learning with evidence-based teaching strategies to ensure our students are not just prepared for primary school, but for a rapidly changing global landscape. This vision is anchored by a strategic expansion plan into lower primary.”

The anniversary celebrations signal more than a milestone—they represent a strategic pivot. The Board of Trustees reaffirmed its commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality early childhood education through a comprehensive roadmap leading up to 2029.

Founded in 1951 by a group of British parents, KKA remains one of Uganda’s pioneer early childhood education institutions, maintaining a mission focused on helping children realize their full potential through a balance of formal and informal learning approaches.

The Wakiso District Sports Officer, Brian Ssenyonga , commended the school for aligning with government priorities.

He praised KKA for balancing academics with sports and nurturing talent from an early age.

KKA Head teacher Petronilla Nakabubi  joined the trustees in celebrating the institution’s journey from a small community nursery to a leading education provider in Uganda.

“Celebrating this milestone is a testament to our consistency and the trust parents have placed in us for over 70 years. We have transitioned through decades of educational shifts and shaped generations of KKA alumni to greater heights within the country,” she said.

She reaffirmed the school’s commitment going forward.

As we kickstart these celebrations, we commit to providing quality education through a competence-based teaching curriculum that puts the student at the center of the process.”

Looking ahead, KKA has adopted a five-year strategic roadmap focused on expanding student enrollment and developing a holistic curriculum that integrates digital literacy with evidence-based teaching strategies.

The plan will be supported by a strong system of qualified teaching staff and management to cater to diverse learning needs.

The Platinum Jubilee celebrations will continue throughout the year, featuring alumni engagement activities and school events, culminating in a grand finale in the third term.
