Top Management  for DPP's Office Conducts Inspection in Hoima Region to Strengthen Justice Delivery

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) Top Management has concluded a strategic inspection of prosecution stations across the Hoima Region, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening justice delivery and institutional accountability.

The inspection, conducted from 23 to 24 March 2026, was led by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Lino Anguzu.

The exercise focused on evaluating service delivery, operational efficiency, and adherence to professional standards across the Hoima Regional Office and Resident State Attorney offices in Hoima, Masindi, Kiryandongo, Buliisa, Kibale, and Kagadi.

During engagements with staff, the DPP delivered a firm message emphasizing integrity and professionalism in the execution of prosecutorial duties.

He cautioned against corruption, highlighted the importance of evidence-based decision-making, and called for timely and high-quality prosecution of cases. He also underscored the importance of proper record management and the responsibility of prosecutors to uphold the public interest.

“We must remain steadfast in upholding integrity, professionalism, and evidence-based decision-making as the cornerstone of public trust in the justice system,” he said.

The inspection served to reinforce accountability mechanisms, identify operational gaps, and promote best practices aimed at enhancing the administration of criminal justice. While commending staff for their dedication and service, ODPP Top Management emphasized the need for continuous improvement, teamwork, and institutional growth.

The DPP was accompanied by James Owere Odumbi, Deputy DPP in charge of Prosecutions and International Affairs, and Agnes Kainza Nzogi, Permanent Secretary of the ODPP.

This inspection forms part of the ODPP’s ongoing efforts to build a responsive, effective, and principled prosecution service anchored in the rule of law.
