Renowned Ugandan orthopaedic surgeon John Ekure is set to launch his latest book, We Can Be More: The Courage to Grow, The Strength to Rise, on 26th March 2026 at Hotel Africana in the Nile Hall.
The launch promises to go beyond a traditional book unveiling, serving as a platform for dialogue on personal growth, resilience, and purposeful living.
The event will also raise support for the Elizabeth Opola Foundation Kumi Orthopaedic Centre, reflects in his book on his journey from humble rural beginnings to becoming a leading specialist in orthopaedics, trauma, and spine surgery.
In We Can Be More, he challenges readers to move beyond comfort zones and embrace purposeful living. “True strength is found in service, and a meaningful legacy is measured not by recognition but by contribution,” Dr. Ekure writes.
The book explores themes of discipline, courage, humility, and the power of consistent action, emphasizing that personal growth begins with taking the first step, even in imperfect circumstances.
This is Dr. Ekure’s third major publication following Undeterred, chronicling the founding of the Kumi Orthopaedic Centre, and Changing Our World, a call for transformation through service and leadership.
Beyond medicine and writing, Dr. Ekure is a motivational speaker, youth advocate, and board member of the National Environment Management Authority
