Muslim MPs ask for the second time to hold National Juma Prayers at Kololo grounds

Muslim Members of Parliament have for the second time written to the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Defense Mrs Rosette Byengoma asking for the provision of the Kololo ceremonial grounds for the National Juma Prayers scheduled for 18th of January 2018

According to the Muslim legislators led by the Parliamentary Imam Hajji Latif Ssebagala, the National Juma Prayers are to seek the mercy of Allah for the Muslims who have been arrested, tortured and abducted by different government security agencies.

Ssebagala said the Muslim MPs do not understand why the government has continued to deny them a chance to host their prayers at Kololo grounds.

He said that the MPs were forced to write this second request after the Defence PS informed them that the grounds had already been booked for January 11th. The MPs wanted to hold the prayers on that date initially.

Ssebagala claims that the prayers will unite all Ugandan muslims. The Mufti of Uganda Sheik Shaban Ramathan Mubajje and the Supreme Mufti Suleiman Kasule Ndirangwa are expected to attend the prayers.

During the prayers, names of all Muslims who have been tortured, arrested or gone missing will be revealed. The security agencies thought to be behind their predicament will also be revealed.
