The death toll in the Kaphorwa bus accident has risen to 21 and 9 survivors are still in critical condition. The survivors are receiving treatment at Kapchorwa hospital.
19 people died on spot last evening after a vehicle in which they were travelling lost control and over turned several times at Towei cliff along Kapchorwa road.
The coaster belonging to Kiryandongo Technical Institute was carrying staff of Cooperative National league of USA who were returning a three-day tour of Sipi Falls in Kapchorwa district.

Eye witnesses say the driver who seemed unfamiliar with the road lost control of the vehicle at the corner which is a notorious blackspot. The cliff has claimed the lives of many drivers and their passengers over the years.
9 people including the driver in critical condition are still receiving treatment in Kapchorwa hospital. Bodies of the deceased are currently at Kapchorwa hospital mortuary. Relatives have started arriving this morning to claim the remains of their loved ones.
