Shincheonji Church Hosts Theological Exam for Local Clergy in Kayole, Kenya

A public theological engagement focusing on the Book of Revelation was held on December 13 in the Kayole area, bringing together pastors from various Christian denominations for an exam-based discussion on biblical interpretation.

The event, organized by the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, centered on Revelation 1:1–2, which states: “The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place…” According to the organizers, the objective was to examine how different church leaders understand the Book of Revelation and its role in the present era of faith.

A total of 24 pastors from established Protestant churches accepted the invitation and participated in a written exam designed around key themes in Revelation. Shincheonji instructors and pastors also took part in the assessment.

Organizers reported a notable disparity in the results. Protestant pastors recorded an average score of 2.5 points, while Shincheonji instructors and pastors achieved full marks. The outcome prompted extended discussion among participants about approaches to biblical study and interpretation.

Several pastors in attendance acknowledged that the exercise challenged their previous understanding. One pastor said, “Through this exam and event, I have come to realize for the first time that the foundation of God's work is recorded in the Book of Revelation and Genesis. By studying these two books in the future, I will be able to clearly understand how God works on this earth.”

Representatives of Shincheonji stated that the event was intended not as a competition, but as a platform for dialogue and learning. Some participating pastors reportedly expressed interest in continued engagement and further study sessions.
