Mushemeza Charged in Kamwenge Court Over Seven Counts of Fraud
Kitagwenda District Chairperson Ismail Mushemeza has been charged before the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Kamwenge, days after State House Anti-Corruption Unit operatives arrested him in Kampala. 

Kitagwenda District Chairperson Ismail Mushemeza has been arraigned before the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Kamwenge following his arrest in Kampala on Wednesday by police officers attached to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit.

According to the charge sheet presented in court, Mushemeza faces seven counts of obtaining money by false pretence.

Prosecution alleges that he solicited and received money from various individuals under fraudulent circumstances, though details of the complainants and amounts involved were not immediately disclosed.

Mushemeza was taken into custody earlier this week after SHACU launched fresh investigations into the alleged transactions.
