Echodu Urges Soroti City  Voters to Choose Development-Focused Leadership

The Vice Chairman for Eastern Uganda and Soroti City West MP aspirant, Calvin Echodu, has called on residents to elect leaders committed to tangible development rather than empty promises.

Speaking at a massive rally held at Amen Primary School, Nakatunya, on Thursday afternoon, Echodu urged voters to reject politicians who rely on deception, divisive propaganda, and rhetoric without results.

“People need leaders who act, not those who lie every election season. Avoid leaders who speak big words but have never helped anyone rise out of poverty, improve education, access better health services, or create opportunities for income,” Echodu told supporters who braved the scorching sun.

He dismissed allegations of land grabbing as baseless and politically motivated.

“I have heard claims that I grab land. Let them bring evidence. These are lies spread by people who fear development-minded leaders,” he said, urging residents not to be swayed by propaganda.

Echodu emphasized that honest, transparent, and accountable leadership is essential for progress.

He outlined his agenda for Soroti City West, including industrial development to create jobs, improved infrastructure, clean water, electricity expansion, and enhanced social services.

“Our people need development, good roads, reliable water, electricity, and industries that can create employment for our youth. We can’t keep listening to reckless talk year after year. This is the time to bring new energy that will move our people from poverty to prosperity,” he said, stressing Soroti City West’s economic potential.

Accompanying Echodu at the rally, retired UPDF General and political mobilizer Peter Elwelu praised him as a unifying and transformative leader who understands the struggles of ordinary people.

“Teso now has a leader who is clean, caring, and committed to uplifting the poor. Echodu is a man of unity, a man of action, and a man who will take Teso to a better level where others before him have failed,” Elwelu said to loud cheers, urging voters to support Echodu for long-awaited development in Soroti City.
