Plascon’s annual Paint & Win campaign is sweeping across Uganda with renewed energy, colour, and life-changing stories. Now in its seventh week, the 2024 edition—dubbed “The Colours of Excitement”—has already produced dozens of winners, including seven new motorcycle owners and hundreds more who have walked away with instant prizes during activations across the country.
What began as a simple promotion tied to paint purchases has quickly evolved into a nationwide movement, bringing hope and opportunity to everyday Ugandans.
One such story is that of Edward Mubiru, a farmer from Lwengo. With savings just enough to repaint his ageing home, Mubiru made a modest purchase at a local hardware shop, barely noticing the scratch cards attached to his paint tins. Each call he made that day unknowingly entered him into the Paint & Win draw.
Days later, a call changed everything—he had won shs 1.6 million. For Mubiru, a father and caretaker, the prize delivered more than excitement. It relieved financial pressure he had been quietly managing, allowing him to pay school fees and reinvest in his farm activities.
Mubiru’s experience mirrors that of many others touched by Paint & Win Season 14, a campaign that goes beyond promoting colour to uplifting communities. The Plascon team has traversed districts, visited hardware outlets, engaged painters, rewarded loyal dealers, and given everyday buyers the chance to win cash, motorcycles, and now even Tuk Tuks.
At the launch of this year’s edition, Plascon Managing Director Santosh Gumte emphasised the heart behind the initiative. “Every tin of Plascon paint is not just colour on a wall,” he said. “It is happiness, vibrancy, and inspiration—an opportunity for our consumers to feel supported and uplifted in meaningful ways.”
For Gerald Mutabazi, a builder from Kyengera, his win came as an unexpected breakthrough. He received both a cash prize and a motorcycle—assets that he says will ease long-standing transport challenges affecting his work and boost productivity on his small farm.
From Masaka to Gulu, Arua to Mbale, and Mbarara to Kampala, the campaign has ignited widespread excitement. Activation points attract crowds of painters in overalls, hardware shopkeepers celebrate rising customer numbers, and weekly draws continue to unveil new winners and personal stories.
A standout highlight this season is the inclusion of brand-new Tuk Tuks among the top prizes. In Week 6, Kansai Plascon handed over the first Tuk Tuk to Irene Tushabe, who had previously won cash during the daily draws.
Her victory has heightened anticipation nationwide, with the second Tuk Tuk set to be awarded in Week 10—the final week of the promotion.
Under the ongoing structure, six winners walk away with shs1 million each day. These six then compete in a weekly live draw for a new motorcycle. The five who do not win automatically qualify for the grand prize draw for a Tuk Tuk.
So far, over 42 customers have won cash and motorcycles, and even more prizes await as the campaign expands into new districts.
For business owners like David Oyite Oyok from Soroti, the timing could not be better. With the festive season approaching, he plans to use his cash prize to restock his shop and support his family, confident the boost will strengthen his business before the year ends.
As Paint & Win Season 14 moves toward its final weeks, the colours of excitement continue spreading across the country—one tin, one winner, and one transformed life at a time.
