“We have built a culture of debate among our pupils, and competing at this level sharpens their skills and strengthens their confidence. These disciplines will help them earn a living through public speaking,” Yebazamukama noted.

The school’s headteacher, Desmond Tayebwa, praised both learners and teachers for their dedication, attributing the win to teamwork, consistency, and hard work.

“We are champions, and we plan to take ten pupils who will be grouped into three teams. We believe they will continue achieving the best,” Tayebwa said. He added that the competition tested the school’s ability to perform at both national and international levels, strengthening their ambition to excel on the global stage.

This year’s championship featured debate, public speaking, and storytelling categories, attracting 98 schools from across Africa, including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, and Malawi, among others.
