Next Media’s Head of Corporate Affairs and Partnerships, Ben Mwine, has been re-elected as the Vice Chairman of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), the umbrella body representing all private-sector electronic broadcast media houses in Uganda.
Mwine was returned to the position unopposed during the Association’s Annual General Meeting held on Friday at Four Points by Sheraton.
Following his re-election, Mwine took to X to express gratitude and reaffirm his commitment to the sector, writing: “Delighted and humbled to be elected unopposed as Vice Chair NAB.
"Looking forward to serving alongside my leader Nahabwe and the rest of the team to use broadcasting to make Uganda the best it can be.”
The AGM also saw Innocent Nahabwe re-elected as Chairman of NAB, reinforcing continuity in the Association’s top leadership.
Ben Mwine is a highly accomplished management professional with close to 20 years of experience spanning broadcasting, sales, marketing, communications, and business management.
He is widely recognised as a creative and strategic leader with a record of driving growth and organisational turnaround across several media houses.
He is credited with elevating faith-based radio into mainstream relevance during his tenure as Managing Director at Power FM, and later steering Sanyu FM and KFM to strong ratings in relatively short periods.
Mwine has also built a reputation as a strategic thinker and innovator, making him a sought-after leader and consultant for major brands in Uganda’s fast-moving consumer goods sector.
His integrity, passion for innovation, and consistent delivery have earned him recognition as one of Uganda’s respected business managers.
He is a two-time Top 100 Mid-sized Company Award winner, as well as a celebrated public speaker and event host.
Academically, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. His career includes roles as Head of Programming at Power FM, Sanyu FM and KFM; Key Accounts Manager at Coca-Cola Uganda; Managing Director at Power FM and Celeste Media; and General Manager at Kwesé Free Sports.
Outside work, Mwine is an avid car and sports enthusiast, a regular tennis player, and one of Uganda’s most devoted Liverpool supporters.
