Nansana Municipality Member of Parliament Aspirant under the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) ticket, Musoke Hamis Walusimbi, has called for urgent attention to the critical challenges facing Nansana, emphasizing the need for better representation and improved public services.
Speaking during Nansana Municipality Parliamentary debate hosted by NBS Television on Sunday, Walusimbi noted that Nansana Municipality has been underrepresented in parliament over the past three terms, contributing to the slow pace of development in the area.
“With a population of over 70,000 people, Nansana still lacks adequate government health facilities. Not everyone can afford private health services,” Walusimbi said.
He further stressed the need for equitable access to essential services, including health care, education, and infrastructure, to improve the quality of life for residents.
Walusimbi’s remarks come amid growing concerns over inadequate service delivery in Nansana, with residents urging their elected leaders to address long-standing issues such as limited access to healthcare, poor road networks, and insufficient social amenities.
Walusimbi pledged to prioritize the needs of Nansana residents, advocating for policies and projects that will enhance public service delivery, ensure transparency, and foster inclusive development.
Walusimbi is set to face off with former NBS Amasengejje Anchor Zambaali Bulasio Mukasa of the National Unity Platfrom (NUP), Henry Lubowa of the Democratic Front (DF), Harold Kaija of the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF), Ida Buggaga Matovu of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and independent candidates Florence Kintu, Mutebi Ramathan and Kayaga Juliet; all of whom are seeking to unseat outgoing MP Nsereko Musoke Wakayima who has represented the constituency since 2016.
With just months to the elections, the Nansana Municipality parliamentary seat is poised to become one of the most closely watched contests of the 2026 polls.
