ONC Unveils New Technology System to Protect NRM Votes, Track Government Projects

The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) at Kyambogo has launched a new technology-backed system aimed at safeguarding National Resistance Movement (NRM) votes in the upcoming elections and improving the monitoring of government programmes across the country.

The system, named “Voters Protection”, was officially unveiled by Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, the Head of the ONC, during a launch event attended by State House officials. Namyalo said the innovation comes in response to persistent concerns that votes for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni have, in past elections, been mishandled or stolen.

“We are tired of the same complaints every election cycle. This time we are prepared to defend the President’s vote with all our effort,” Namyalo said. She urged Ugandans to turn up in large numbers on polling day and to play an active role in ensuring that their vote is counted and protected.

According to ONC, the “Voters Protection” system is designed to mobilize, strengthen, and safeguard President Museveni’s support base nationwide using real-time digital tools. It will also help verify election-related reports from the grassroots and enhance communication between coordinators and the central command team.

Beyond elections, the new platform will be used to track government development projects across ministries, departments, and agencies. Officials say this will improve accountability and allow the ONC to independently verify the progress and accuracy of reports submitted by various entities.

“These government programmes are meant for the people. We are going to use this system to monitor what is being implemented on the ground and ensure transparency,” Namyalo emphasized.

She also dismissed allegations circulating on social media claiming she had been removed from her role in the election process, describing the reports as baseless.

The newly launched system will operate through a network of more than 1,200 coordinators stationed across the country.

According to ONC, each village will have at least two trained individuals responsible for mobilization and for feeding accurate information into the platform to secure President Museveni’s victory in the next election.

The ONC says the introduction of the “Voters Protection” system marks a significant shift toward technology-driven political mobilization and programme monitoring, highlighting the administration’s commitment to both electoral integrity and improved service delivery.
