Ibanda NRM Leaders Vow 100% Vote for Museveni in 2026

Leaders of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Ibanda District have pledged to deliver a 100% vote for President Yoweri Museveni in the 2026 general elections, as preparations intensify ahead of his expected visit to the district.

The commitment was made on Friday during an NRM mobilisation meeting held at Golden Hotel in Ibanda Town. The meeting was chaired by the district NRM chairperson, Joveline Kaliisa Kyomukama, who also serves as the Ibanda Woman MP NRM flag bearer.

Kyomukama urged party leaders to surpass the district’s previous performance in presidential elections, insisting that the 2026 vote must set a new benchmark.

“Our target is 100 percent, not 98 as some people claim,” she said. “We must intensify our mobilisation efforts to ensure the President receives more support than he did in the last elections.”

She called on all NRM flag bearers and grassroots mobilisers to fully commit to the campaign and ensure no voter is left unengaged.

Ibanda Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Godfrey Mbetegyereize, echoed the call for unity and coordination within the party.

“Teamwork is key if we are to deliver victory for all NRM candidates and President Museveni,” he said. “Let us support one another and work together as a strong and organised team.”

In the 2021 general elections, President Museveni secured 87% of the vote in Ibanda District. With the new mobilisation strategy, party leaders believe they can surpass that record and deliver what they describe as a near-unanimous endorsement for the President.

Mobilisation activities will continue throughout the district in the coming weeks as NRM leaders prepare for the President’s visit and the upcoming campaign season.
