2018 MTN Marathon: Ugandans take top honours

Ugandan athletes took top honours in this year's edition of the MTN Marathon that climaxed at Kololo Independence Grounds excelling in the various distances.

Uganda's Joshua Chemutai emerged winner in the 42 KM race in the male category bagging Shs 20 million while Kenya's Nasimiyu Wafula Lydia took the honours in the female category. Chemutai clocked a time of 2 hours, 18 minutes and 27 seconds.

In the 21 KM category it was a clean sweep for Ugandans.

Uganda's Robert Chemonges took top honours in the male category while Linet Toroitich won in the ladies category. Chemonges also won this category in the 2017 edition.

In the 10KM race, Ugandans dominated. Maxwell Rotich was victor in the male category while Peruth Chemutai took the top honours in the female category. The top five runners in both the male and female category in the 10 KM race were all Ugandans.
