NRM National Treasurer, Ambassador Barbra Nekesa Oundo, has declared that Busia District and the greater Samia Bugwe area are fully prepared to deliver more than 90% of the vote for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the 2026 general elections.
Nekesa, who also heads the Bukedi Sub-region Campaign Taskforce, made the remarks on Thursday at Saaza Grounds in Budaka District during President Museveni’s well-attended campaign rally, part of his ongoing nationwide tour seeking re-election for the 2026–2031 term.
She expressed strong confidence that the Bukedi Sub-region is united behind the NRM and its presidential flag bearer, emphasizing that leaders at district, sub-county, and grassroots levels are fully aligned and working in coordination to ensure an overwhelming victory.
“Every leader in Bukedi is working tirelessly to ensure that the President attains over 90% support in the 2026 election. We are organized, united, and committed to delivering all NRM flag bearers as well,” Nekesa said.
She noted that the new NRM mobilization strategy being implemented in Bukedi is already yielding impressive results, with enhanced grassroots engagement, increased community outreach, and strengthened structures at all levels. According to her, the smooth progress of Museveni’s campaign activities in the region demonstrates the strong support he continues to enjoy.
During the rally, residents turned out in large numbers to listen to President Museveni outline the NRM’s agenda for continued socio-economic transformation, infrastructure development, and improved service delivery.
As the President’s campaign tour gains momentum, Nekesa encouraged NRM supporters across the region to maintain their enthusiasm and turn up in even greater numbers for the upcoming rallies.
