Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has expressed deep appreciation to the Kingdom of Buganda’s partners for their continued collaboration and commitment toward the Kingdom’s mission of restoring Buganda to its peak.

The Kabaka conveyed his message through a written statement delivered by the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, during the Buganda Kingdom Partnership Symposium 2025 held at Four Points by Sheraton in Kampala on Thursday.

The gathering, organized under the theme “Partnerships for the Socio-Economic Development of the People,” brought together key stakeholders working with the Kingdom to review achievements, strengthen existing collaborations, and chart new pathways for sustained development.

“Our goal of restoring Buganda to its pinnacle can only be achieved when our people live dignified lives and are able to access services that enhance development and prosperity. This is attainable when we walk hand in hand with our partners,” he said.

The Kabaka emphasized that in today’s world, partnerships play a critical role in achieving sustainable growth. He said the Kingdom continues to create avenues that enable institutions to contribute to the betterment of communities across Buganda.

The Kabaka further highlighted that Buganda’s partnerships are not merely symbolic but are designed to bring about lasting social and economic transformation. He noted that ongoing collaborations have made significant progress in key sectors such as healthcare, education, environmental conservation, and economic empowerment.

Mayiga reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to transparency, innovation, accountability in all its engagements.

“Buganda’s partnerships are built on creativity, honesty, and shared purpose. These alliances have been instrumental in addressing diverse challenges — from promoting education and healthcare to supporting youth empowerment and economic growth,” he said.

The Second Deputy Katikkiro and Minister for Finance and Planning, Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa, who also serves as the Kingdom’s treasurer, presented progress reports on the various partnerships managed through Buganda Investments and Commercial Undertakings Limited (BICUL) — the entity responsible for coordinating and monitoring the Kingdom’s corporate collaborations.

Nsibirwa noted that the results are visible and measurable, citing examples such as construction of hospitals, financial stability in the Kingdom’s annual budget, and delivery of key services in health, education, and environmental protection.

“Our financial reports and impact assessments clearly show that Buganda’s partnerships are yielding strong and positive outcomes,” he said.

Representatives from partner organizations — including Airtel Uganda, the Uganda AIDS Commission, Janan Schools, and others — shared testimonials on the benefits derived from working with the Kingdom. They praised Buganda for its transparent systems, professionalism, and community-driven initiatives, which they said have encouraged continued cooperation.

“Working with Buganda has strengthened our brands and expanded our social impact. The Kingdom’s integrity and well-structured operations give us confidence to invest further in joint projects that uplift communities,” said one of the partners.

The meeting, which attracted key figures such as Nnaalinnya Sarah Kagere, Prince David Kintu Wasajja, members of the Kabaka’s Cabinet, chiefs, religious leaders including Namirembe Diocese Bishop Moses Banja and the Orthodox Archbishop Metropolitan Jeronymos Muzeeyi, county chiefs, executive directors of Kingdom institutions, government ministers led by Minister of Energy and Regional Development Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentamu, and other dignitaries, ended with a shared commitment to strengthen and expand partnerships.

The Kabaka pledged that the Kingdom will continue to invest in and build stronger collaborations that improve livelihoods, enhance unity, and promote sustainable progress across Buganda.

“We remain steadfast in our mission to transform our people’s lives through partnerships that endure,” the Kabaka’s message concluded.
