Tuff B Vows to End Partisan Politics, Tackle Unemployment in Makindye East

Independent parliamentary candidate Robert Ssekidde, popularly known as Tuff B, has pledged to prioritise service delivery and job creation over partisan politics if elected as Member of Parliament for Makindye East.
Speaking during the Makindye East Debate on NBS TV, Tuff B said divisions driven by political party affiliations have denied residents access to essential services.
“Makindye East has been affected by partisan politics and finger-pointing. Everyone is playing blame games and that’s the problem. We have failed to get a leader who will put service beyond colours and that’s what I bring,” he said.
While noting that he does not subscribe to any political party, Tuff B expressed admiration for Robert Kyagulanyi’s People Power ideology, which he said aligns with his belief in citizen empowerment and inclusive leadership.
“I don’t believe in the party, but I believe in the ideology of the party. When I say I support Robert Kyagulanyi, I support his ideology of People Power,” he explained.
The musician-turned-politician said his campaign is centered on addressing unemployment and improving livelihoods in the constituency.
“I’m aspiring for Makindye East MP with one simple intention to get rid of unemployment. I come bringing common sense solutions to common sense problems,” Tuff B said.
Tuff B joins a growing list of entertainers who have turned to politics, promising to bring a new style of leadership rooted in community service and accountability.
