Uganda is poised to step into the international cinematic spotlight with the launch of a new Pan-African movie project, set to feature African and global stars, including the renowned "Hotel Rwanda" actor Hakeem Kae Kazim.

The ambitious project, spearheaded by Shadow Cast Limited, was officially launched at the Next Conference Centre at the Next Media Park. It aims to harness the stunning and accessible natural beauty of Uganda, which international casters praise for its potential to boost tourism and generate significant revenue.

The cast is designed to be a true Pan-African ensemble, uniting talent from across the continent with international movie stars.

Speaking at the media reveal, Hollywood-based Nigerian actor Hakeem Kae Kazim, famous for his role as Colonel Oliver in Hotel Rwanda, highlighted the film’s broader mission.

"The cast will promote the African continent, which will create more inflow of revenue, especially and encourage tourism," Kazim noted, emphasising the economic and cultural benefits for the region.

The project is under the direction of NIYI TOWDAW, bringing his creative vision to the film set against Uganda's defining scenes.

Discussions around the venture have focused heavily on the key prospects for investment, describing the project as a crucial "execution of Uganda-diaspora teaming up to take Africa to the world."

The movie is being produced in partnership with Next Media Group, the home of NBS Television. This collaboration follows months after the media house launched its 'Creata Hub,' an initiative designed to nurture content creation and develop the local creative industry.

The production is expected to showcase Uganda's unique landscapes to a global audience, mirroring the positive impact similar projects have had in other African countries like Ghana.

The international casters noted that films like this serve as powerful platforms, encouraging tourism and subsequent economic growth.
