OPM Steps Up Affirmative Action Interventions for Bunyoro

The State Minister for Bunyoro Affairs, Jennifer Namuyangu, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving service delivery and livelihoods in Bunyoro through targeted interventions.

Namuyangu made the remarks while commissioning the distribution of 410 iron sheets from the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) to various beneficiaries at Hoima district headquarters.

She said the government is introducing supportive measures to supplement district budgets and enhance service delivery.

to Namuyangu, these interventions include the distribution of hoes, iron sheets, sewing machines, milling machines, and heifers, among others.

Namuyangu urged residents of Bunyoro to continue supporting the NRM government and President Yoweri Museveni, noting that visible projects have already been implemented in the region.

The beneficiaries of the iron sheets include Haibale Church of Uganda, which received 200 pieces, Kakindo Primary School with 100, and Bulindi Church of Uganda, which received 110 pieces.

In total, Bunyoro region has been allocated over 47,000 iron sheets from the OPM.

Hoima District Chairman Uthuman Mugisha Kadiri, represented by his deputy Hellen Mulumba, praised the OPM for its consistent support to the district.

Meanwhile, Hoima District Chief Administrative Officer Emmanuel Ssempala said the OPM interventions have had a significant positive impact, including improved learner enrollment and academic performance in schools.
