Police in Masindi are investigating circumstances under which a mother identified as Evelyn Akello burnt her own child with charcoal on the mouth aged nine Akao Mefia accusing her of stealing ground nuts that is said to have been belonging to a neighbor.

According to police, the incident happened in Tantara village Kyakamese parish in Pakanyi sub county Masindi district.
