The Bishop of Mukono Diocese, The Rt Rev Enos Kitto Kagodo, on Friday confirmed 50 students from Bishop’s Senior School, Mukono into the Anglican faith during a pastoral visit to the institution.

The colorful confirmation service, held at the school in Lutikko Archdeaconry, came ahead of the candidates’ final national examinations later this year.

In his sermon, Bishop Kagodo reminded the students of their value before God and encouraged them to uphold faith, discipline, and hard work.

“Each of you is precious in the eyes of the Lord. Treasure yourselves, trust in God, and walk in His guidance, especially as you prepare for your final exams,” he said.

Quoting Isaiah 41:9–13, Bishop Kagodo urged the learners to rely on God’s strength in all situations.

“The Lord is mighty and able to do all things. Do not fear, for He holds your hand,” he said.

The Bishop commended the school’s administration, Board of Governors, and Headteacher, Robert Kyakulaga, for their strong partnership with the Diocese.

He particularly praised their contribution to the construction of the new 5,000-seater St Philip’s and Andrew’s Cathedral at the diocesan headquarters and the continued improvement of school facilities.

“I am impressed by the smart classroom project, the provision of a power generator, and a water purifier. These efforts show your commitment to excellence and digital learning,” Kagodo said.

He also urged parents to keep their children in school until graduation, saying, “Their success is our success, and their future will be brighter when anchored in both knowledge and faith.”

Bishop Kagodo further applauded the school for hosting the Masaza Cup, describing it as a meaningful way to give back to the community while honoring God.

The School Chaplain, Rev Noah Gambrill Nsubuga, highlighted the institution’s ongoing faith-based initiatives, including regular prayer fellowships, fundraising to support needy students, and outreach programs such as donations to inmates at Bugungu Prison.

Headteacher Kyakulaga Robert outlined several recent achievements, including compound beautification, classroom renovations, and facility upgrades.

However, he noted challenges such as limited classroom space, inadequate ICT resources, insecurity in staff quarters, and insufficient accommodation for teachers.

The confirmation service, attended by students, staff, and diocesan leaders, strengthened the learners’ spiritual commitment and reaffirmed the school’s dedication to academic excellence and Christian values in Mukono Diocese.
