Uganda’s creative community is set to benefit from a major boost as Next Media Group prepares to unveil a Creator Hub on October 10, 2025—a dedicated platform aimed at nurturing local talent and expanding the country’s presence in the global digital marketplace.

The announcement comes at the State of the Digital Economy forum at Next Media Park, where media executives, regulators, and innovators also highlighted the critical need to build a safer and more trustworthy online environment.

Next Media Group CEO Kin Kariisa emphasized the impact of the #BeeraSteady campaign, run jointly with the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), which has already reduced telecom fraud complaints from 16,000 to just 1,500 calls per month within eight months.

“Together, let us continue to fight fake news and build a digital economy that is safer, more trustworthy, and beneficial for everyone,” Kariisa said.

The forum underscored that Uganda’s soaring digital growth reflected in expanding mobile and internet use—must be matched with initiatives that protect users, empower creators, and strengthen trust across the digital ecosystem.
