State Attorney Found Dead in Wampeewo Home
Police have launched investigations after the body of a senior prosecutor was discovered inside her residence in Kasangati.

Police in Kasangati are investigating the sudden death of Fatumah Bbuye Nabiwemba, a 47-year-old State Attorney attached to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) headquarters, whose body was found inside her home in Wampeewo, Kasangati Town Council.

According to police, the body was discovered on Thursday evening, July 10, 2025, after Hamuza Kabanda, a driver at the DPP headquarters, reported the incident at around 8:36 p.m.

Preliminary reports suggest that the deceased had last been seen at her workplace about four days before her body was discovered. She lived alone.

A team of detectives, led by the Division Police Commander, visited the scene, conducted a search, and recovered several items of evidential value.

Her body was later taken to the City Mortuary for a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.

“We are investigating a case of sudden death. A postmortem will help us determine the exact cause. At this point, we cannot speculate,” said ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police.

Investigations are ongoing.
