The spiritual leader and founder of the Faith of Unity, Owobusobozi Bisaka, has urged his followers to back President Museveni in the upcoming 2026 general elections, citing the NRM government's commitment to peace and national development.
While addressing a massive gathering during the 39th Flower Day celebrations held at the Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka International Stadium in Muhorro, Owobusobozi called on his congregation to engage fully in government programs and remain steadfast in their support for the ruling party.
“Let us continue supporting the NRM government led by President Museveni, who has preserved peace and created a stable environment for spiritual and national growth,” Owobusobozi noted.
“Without his support, the Faith of Unity may never have flourished globally as it has today.”
The event, which started with a colorful procession from the Faith of Unity headquarters in Kapyemi to the stadium in Kyalubayinga, Muhorro Sub-county, drew thousands of believers and local residents. Owobusobozi emphasized hard work and discipline as central values in the Faith of Unity, urging believers to contribute meaningfully to Uganda’s development.
“We have only three rest days every month the 2nd, 12th, and 22nd the rest are for work, productivity is sacred. Let us use our time wisely and dedicate ourselves to nation-building.”He added.
During the celebrations, 275 individuals from various religious affiliations converted to the Faith of Unity, each receiving a Book of God of the Age of Oneness and the Faith of Unity calendar, which emphasizes work-focused living. The gesture symbolized spiritual openness and unity under the faith’s teachings.
The Flower Day celebration marks a pivotal moment in the faith’s history tracing back to July 2, 1986, when Owobusobozi Bisaka reportedly helped dozens of women deliver babies safely after they were believed to have been spiritually hindered from giving birth.
In a gesture of gratitude, the women paraded through the streets with flowers, singing praises to him a tradition that continues to this day.
The event also served as a platform for reinforcing the relationship between spiritual guidance and civic responsibility, with Owobusobozi calling for active participation in national governance.
The 39th edition of Flower Day solidified the Faith of Unity's growing influence and reaffirmed its commitment to peace, development, and spiritual unity within Uganda and beyond.
