After over three years of service, award-winning public relations professional Ian Rumanyika has announced his resignation as Head of External and Corporate Affairs at Uganda Baati Ltd, effective June 30, 2025.
Rumanyika announced the development in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter).
In the statement, Rumanyika expressed deep gratitude for his time at the roofing manufacturing giant, reflecting on a tenure marked by transformation and milestone achievements.
“After three fulfilling years and two months, I will resign as Head of External and Corporate Affairs at Uganda Baati Ltd, effective June 30, 2025,” Rumanyika stated.
“It has been an honour to lead strategic communications, policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement through a period of growth and transformation. I’m proud of the milestones and impact we have achieved as a team.”
He extended appreciation to Uganda Baati, its parent company Safal Group, and key partners including the Media.
“I am grateful to the leadership of Uganda Baati and the Safal Group, and to partners…for your unwavering support,” he added.
“As I take on new professional pursuits, I remain committed to building purposeful partnerships and advancing public affairs across the region.”
Rumanyika joined Uganda Baati in 2022, where he was tasked with providing strategic leadership for the company’s external affairs and corporate communications.
His role encompassed stakeholder engagement, public relations, and advocacy initiatives during a period of significant institutional evolution.
Prior to Uganda Baati, Rumanyika served for nearly 11 years at the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), most recently as Manager of Public and Corporate Affairs.
A highly recognised figure in the communications sector, Rumanyika has received numerous accolades throughout his career.
He was named among Vision Group’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2019 and ranked 23rd on the list of Top 100 Global PR Influencers by Commentric International.
