In an inspiring display of academic excellence and teamwork, 38 students from Kabojja International School in Uganda have returned victorious from the World Scholars Cup Finals held in Doha.

Ranking 3rd in Africa and earning global acclaim, the team showcased Uganda’s academic prowess on an international stage in different competitions including debates, collaborative writing, and the other Scholars Challenges.

Arriving at Entebbe Airport aboard Quatar airways, the total of 38 students proudly carried an impressive haul of 93 gold medals and 62 silver medals across the junior (ages 9–13) and senior (ages 15–17) categories.

A highlight was Kabojja’s debate champion, who secured 3rd place globally, underscoring the school’s exceptional talent. The team, which included some of the youngest scholars in the competition, excelled in events such as debates, collaborative writing, and the Scholars Challenge.

Namara Monic, a teacher and coach at Kabojja International School, expressed immense pride in the students’ achievements.

“This success reflects the hard work and determination of our students. Kabojja continues to be a beacon of excellence, and this victory in Doha 2025 inspires us to aim even higher,” she said.

The World Scholars Cup, a prestigious global academic competition, unites top students from schools in over 60 countries to foster critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.

Kabojja’s outstanding performance included notable contributions from students like Melvin Tayebwa, Cornelio Onen Saverino Louis, and Namubiru Ella Vanya.

Melvin Tayebwa shared, “Competing in Doha was intense, but it brought out our best. Winning so many medals and representing Uganda in 2025 is a memory I’ll cherish forever.”

Cornelio Onen Saverino Louis added, “The teamwork and preparation paid off. Standing 3rd in Africa and having our debate champion rank globally is a huge honor.”

The students’ return to a hero’s welcome at Entebbe Airport highlights the national pride their achievement has sparked. Their success is set to motivate young scholars across Uganda to pursue academic excellence with passion and determination.
