At least 200 amateur golfers to take part in Pepsi Independence golf tournament

Over 200 amateur golfers will take part in the Pepsi Independence Golf tournament on Tuesday 9th October at Pam Valley Golf Course Kakungulu, Wakiso District.

The  Palm Valley Golf Course located in the Akright Kakungulu estate, Wakiso district will once again host the 9th edition of the 9 hole Pepsi Golf Independence tournament.

The players will play the Stableford style  which is one of challenging systems  in golf.

Audrey Lang, the Pepsi brand manager during the launch said they have everything ready and aim to make the tournament more exciting than the previous editions.

"We want to make the tournament more exciting than the previous editions. The course has already been prepared, the player kits are ready, we are all set for 9th october," said Audrey Lang.

Over 40 proffessionals  will also  play on 8th and winners have a package of 30m  shllings and amartures will be awarded with votures and trophies.

Last year, Mayanja Becca scored the highest points in the mens category (43pts) and Mbagutta Gloria 34points emerged the best in the Women's category.

Besides Pepsi, there are other sponsors of the tournament who include Sheraton hotel, Stanbic Bank, ICEA insurance company, Aqua Sipi mineral water and Clarkson.
