In a heartwarming gesture that has captured the admiration of many, five-year-old Dominic Luther Mubiru has earned praise from Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi after sending a heartfelt birthday letter and a thoughtful gift to mark the monarch's 70th birthday.
Dominic, a pupil at St Franciscan Angels Daycare and Kindergarten in Kiteezi, used money he received after losing his first tooth to buy a whistle—an item he hoped would help the Kabaka remind his subjects not to litter.
The young boy carefully packaged the whistle along with a letter congratulating the monarch on reaching the milestone age.
The Kabaka was deeply moved by the child's gesture and responded with a personal letter of appreciation. In his message, the Kabaka thanked Dominic for the touching gift and congratulatory note.
He also extended special recognition to Dominic’s parents, Godfrey Kiiza and Justine Nakalyango, for raising such a well-mannered and intelligent child and for enrolling him in school at an early age.
The Kabaka further commended the teachers at St Franciscan Angels for their role in nurturing Dominic’s literacy and values.

“It is heartening to see such devotion from a child so young,” he wrote, emphasising the importance of instilling environmental consciousness and good citizenship from an early age.
Dominic’s letter and gift were officially received at Bulange in Mengo by the Kabaka’s private secretary, DD Mukiibi.
Currently living with his grandparents, Henry Kanyike and Mrs Florence Kanyike, in Kiteezi while his parents work abroad, Dominic continues to make his family proud.
His inspiring act is a beautiful reminder that age is no barrier to kindness, patriotism, and meaningful contribution to society.
