President Museveni has described the Kabale Diocese Bishop, Callist Rubaramira, as a faithful servant who has transformed the lives of many in the Kigezi Sub-region.
In his message delivered by the Vice President, Jessica Alupo, the President described Bishop Rubaramira as a highly disciplined leader with good administrative skills to lead God’s people.
This was during celebrations to mark 50 years of priesthood of Bishop Callist Rubaramira at Rushoroza Cathedral in Kabale Municipality.
Ordained a priest on 18th March 1975 at Rushoroza Cathedral, Bishop Callist Rubaramira has faithfully served for five decades. Speaking during celebrations to mark 50 years of priesthood, President Yoweri Museveni, in his message delivered by Vice President Jessica Alupo, noted that Bishop Rubaramira has served well and changed communities.
“The Catholic Church has made a commendable contribution in the spiritual, economic, and socio-economic transformation of the people of Kigezi,” President Museveni noted.
The Archbishop of Mbarara Archdiocese, who was the main preacher, Lambert Bainomugisha, commended Bishop Callist Rubaramira for his unwavering dedication, developmental leadership, and enduring legacy of service as he commemorates his priestly golden jubilee.
“As we celebrate this occasion, we reflect on a journey of faithful service, the transformative power of consecrated hands, and enduring faith that characterise Bishop Callist Rubaramira,” Bainomugisha noted.
The State Minister of Finance, Henry Musasizi, applauded Bishop Rubaramira for the good work done over the years.
Bishop Rubaramira was born in 1950 in Rubira Village, Kyanamira Sub-county, Kabale District. He was appointed Bishop of Kabale Diocese by Pope John Paul II on March 18, 2003, and installed on June 8, 2003, at Rushoroza Cathedral.
