The prosecution has dropped explosive claims during their opening statement in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ ongoing trial. Prosecutor Emily A. Johnson told the court that Combs forced his ex-partner, R&B artist Cassie Ventura, to have sex with male escorts, and then blackmailed her using footage of the encounters.
Cassie, expected to be a central figure in the trial, was described as both a victim and a key witness to the alleged abuse and control Combs exerted through intimidation and manipulation.
Johnson further claimed that Combs used his vast business empire as a shield to cover up his crimes and silence his victims. The case, still in its early stages, is already exposing dark allegations that could shake the entertainment industry to its core.
Opening statements are underway in the high-profile trial of Sean 'Diddy' Combs, and lead prosecutor Emily A. Johnson has laid out a chilling portrait of the music mogul.
Addressing the packed courtroom, Johnson alleged that Combs operated a criminal enterprise for two decades, supported by his bodyguards and staff, to facilitate and conceal a series of drug and sex-related crimes.
The prosecution zeroed in on disturbing allegations involving Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, Combs’ former partner. The court heard how, upon discovering she was dating another man, Combs broke into the man’s home, searched for Cassie, and “beat her brutally.”

Real Madrid have decided to speed up reveal of the worst kept secret and see out Carlo Ancelotti, who will leave the Spanish club at the end of the season to become the new national team coach of Brazil.
The 65-year-old Italian will officially take charge of Brazil on May 26 following the conclusion of the La Liga season after the club approached and got Xabi Alonso to leave German side Bayer Leverkusen.
Ancelotti won 15 trophies across two spells as Real manager and last season led Los Blancos to a Champions League and La Liga double.

Forget your Omwanyi terimba gospel, the real deal - and that is where the gospel works - is in the church. As Phaneroo Ministries International marks over 10 years of ministry, Apostle Lubega’s announcement of a Shs200bn church project has sparked fresh momentum within the congregation. The proposed mega structure, which will be fully funded through voluntary giving, underscores Lubega’s emphasis on faith over finance.
“I know there’s someone out there who doesn’t even have a job yet but wants to give a million dollars,” Lubega said, addressing a packed Thursday service. “That’s the person I’m believing God for.”
The message has resonated with Phaneroo’s youthful base, many of whom credit Lubega’s teachings for transforming their lives.
Lubega's vision is not only about bricks and mortar—it’s about building a movement. With services that draw thousands every Thursday and Sunday in Naguru, the ministry’s influence continues to grow, not just in Uganda but across borders, through live streams and mission outreaches. Once completed, the structure could become a landmark of faith, generosity, and spiritual ambition in East Africa.
But again, we go back to Lucky Dube's Prisoner!

Apostle Grace Lubega, the founder of Phaneroo Ministries International, has announced ambitious plans to construct a $55 million (approx. Shs200bn) church building—without borrowing a single shilling. Speaking during a recent service in Naguru, where the ministry currently holds its gatherings, Lubega shared his faith-driven vision for a new mega structure that will house thousands of congregants.
“I’m not borrowing,” Lubega declared confidently. “I am Abraham’s son.” He added that he’s trusting God to stir the hearts of believers—like a “young man in the industry” who might not yet have a job, but carries the faith to pledge a million dollars toward the vision. The bold declaration drew cheers from congregants, many of whom took to social media to express excitement and support for the project.
The planned building is expected to be one of the largest church facilities in East Africa, for a church founded in 2014. Well, did we hear somewhere that we should build more hospitals or was that Lucky Dube's reveries in the song, Prisoner?
"They won't build no schools any more, they won't build no hospitals, all they will build will be church church, all they will build will be church church" (ignore the emphasis!)
As speculation builds around Phiona Nyamutoro’s 2026 candidacy, her potential challenge to Agnes Acibu for the Nebbi District Woman MP seat is poised to create waves within the ruling NRM party. The anticipation surrounding the race has already begun to reshape the political landscape in Nebbi, with Nyamutoro’s strong backing from Eddie Kenzo likely to boost her profile as a formidable contender.
Kenzo’s endorsement signals a significant shift in the internal dynamics of the NRM. His popularity and influence, particularly in the creative industry, could play a pivotal role in rallying support for Nyamutoro. With the backing of such a high-profile figure, the stage is set for what could be a high-stakes contest within the party. Kenzo’s vocal support has already energized many of Nyamutoro’s potential supporters, who view her as a candidate who can bring fresh energy and leadership to the district.
Nyamutoro’s entry into the race is likely to spark intense competition, particularly with the incumbent MP, Agnes Acibu, whose position is now under increasing pressure.

Eddie Kenzo has given his endorsement to fiancee Phiona Nyamutoro, the State Minister for Energy and Mineral Development, as she prepares to run for the Nebbi District Woman MP seat in 2026. The news broke after Kenzo posted a heartfelt message on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, declaring his support for Nyamutoro’s candidacy.
In his post, Kenzo praised Nyamutoro for her integrity, empathy, and wisdom, stating, “Your integrity, empathy, and wisdom make you an exceptional leader! Lero pa Nebbi, Team Zim Zim 2026.” The endorsement comes after Nyamutoro’s campaign poster began circulating on social media, raising questions about her political future and signaling her intent to challenge the incumbent NRM MP Agnes Acibu in what promises to be a fierce contest within the ruling party.
Kenzo’s support for Nyamutoro follows their public relationship, which gained widespread attention last year. On June 30, 2024, Nyamutoro introduced Kenzo to her parents during a traditional ceremony, and she shared her joy on social media, calling him “the best man in the world.” Her post read, “Too much more laughter, unbounded joy, and unprecedented love. Best man in the world is my best friend! Nebbi is ready.” The close bond between the two figures is now sparking interest in Nyamutoro’s political plans.
Rights advocates are raising red flags ahead of the bill’s first reading, warning that empowering military courts to try civilians could erode judicial independence and violate due process guarantees.
Legal experts are calling for careful parliamentary scrutiny, noting Uganda’s commitments under international human rights law could be undermined.
Once introduced, Sam Ibanda Mugabi reports that the bill will be referred to the Defence & Internal Affairs Committee and the Legal & Parliamentary Affairs Committee for detailed analysis.
Expectations are high for broad consultations and a fierce debate, as Parliament navigates a legal crossroads with potential implications for Uganda’s civil-military relations.
Parliament is expected to receive the UPDF Amendment Bill 2025 during today’s plenary sitting. Defence Minister Jacob Oboth Oboth will introduce the bill in a session chaired by Speaker Anita Among.
The bill is sparking heated debate over its provision allowing military courts to try civilians, especially those found in possession of security-related equipment.

In a powerful moment at the PFF press briefing, a framed portrait of jailed leader Dr. Kizza Besigye was placed on an empty chair at the front row of the party’s Katonga Road headquarters.
Besigye, a founding figure in Uganda’s opposition movement, has been in jail since last November when he was abducted from Nairobi, Kenya, and charged in the General Court Martial. The treason charges were amended to misprison of treason charge after the Supreme Court outlawed the military courts.
The gesture served as a stark reminder of the party’s roots and ongoing struggle.

The President of the People's Front for Freedom (PFF) Erias Lukwago, has officially confirmed that the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) has finalized its registration as a political party.
“We finalized with the process of registering PFF,” Lukwago told the media during a news briefing at the party’s headquarters on Katonga Road.
He added that only a procedural step by the Electoral Commission remains: gazetting the notice in line with the Political Parties and Organizations Act.
Reacting to the court’s ruling, MP Elias Nalukoola expressed frustration, telling the Nile Post's Josephine Namakumbi: “I respect the court’s authority but strongly disagree with this decision. Museveni and his people are the ones benefiting from this situation.”
His legal team, led by Muhammad Mbabazi, had argued that denying full cross-examination violates his right to a fair hearing.

The High Court in Kampala has dismissed Kawempe North MP Elias Nalukoola’s application to appeal a ruling that limits him to cross-examining just 10 out of 29 witnesses in the ongoing election petition. Justice Bernard Namanya ruled that such interlocutory applications are not allowed under the Parliamentary Elections Act.
"Only final rulings determining the winner of an election can be appealed," the judge stated.
Josephine Namakumbi reports that the court has now set cross-examination for May 13 and 14, beginning at 9:00 AM each day. Petitioner Faridah Nambi’s witnesses will be first on the stand, followed by Nalukoola’s defence team on May 15. Justice Namanya warned both parties to comply or face sanctions.
Deputy RCC Bukiwe, Sanon Dalah, confirmed Mwase had attended his own introduction ceremony on Saturday in Kirongero, Bugiri District, and was planning to return to Lira on Monday.
Sources say Mwase also attended a political meeting in Makuutu village on Sunday at the invitation of Iganga RCC Sadala Wandera, who announced plans to contest for the Bugweri MP seat. Over 50 RCCs later shared dinner at Sana Hotel, Iganga, before parting at around 7:30pm.

Mwase's private vehicle was found parked in the middle of the Iganga–Tirinyi highway with hazard lights on and engine running. The windows were rolled down, but he was not in the car.
Nasser Kakaire, ARCC Bugweri and close friend of the deceased, told the Nile Post's Teven Kibumba that he was informed around 8pm that Mwase's car had been abandoned on the road.
"When I arrived, the engine was still running, but he wasn’t inside,” Kakaire said.
Moments after the vehicle was found, local residents mounted a search and discovered Mwase's lifeless body in a trench just a few meters away. The body bore visible injuries, including a deep forehead wound and blood flowing from the nose.
