NRM's Barbara Nekesa Rallies Busoga on Wealth Ceation

Nekesa made the call at Mbigiti Memorial Technical Institute in Makuutu town council, Bugweri district during a fundraising function organized by Bugweri Muslim SACCO to capitalize their association.

The NRM National Treasurer  Amb. Barbara Nekesa Oudo has urged the people of Busoga Subregion to concentrate their efforts on combatting household poverty by  embracing empowerment programs of government like the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga among others.

‎‎Amb. Nekesa made the call on Saturday at Mbigiti Memorial Technical Institute in Makuutu town council, Bugweri district during a fundraising function that was organized by Bugweri Muslim SACCO to capitalize their association.

‎‎The National Treasurer who was the chief guest represented the Secretary General  Richard Todwong .

‎"I thank everyone who has come here because it shows their commitment to fighting poverty. As the ruling party, we welcome the idea of coming together to mobilize resources that will aid in social economic transformation. This is inline with the NRM manifesto of securing the future," Nekesa said.

‎She asked the locals to concentrate their energies more on improving family welfare other than castigating government.

‎‎She also thanked the residents for organizing themselves into a SACCO which will give them a formal identity to benefit from Government programs.

‎"However, fundraisings are not a sustainable solution for funds mobilization for economic growth, instead your leaders should identify the opportunities we have in our government poverty eradication programs like PDM, Emyooga, the Grow project and advise you on where and how to get these funds," Nekesa guided.

‎ ‎Nekesa hailed  the people of Bugweri for contributing to the liberation struggle of Uganda through their children like the late Alhajj. Kirunda Kivejinja.

‎"Uganda has been stable for the last 40 years. Thanks to President Yoweri Museveni and his combatants like your child the late Hajji. Kivejinja," Nekesa said.

‎‎She reiterated that there is no longer state Inspired violence because of the NRM government policy of prioritizing peace and security but warned that the country can easily slide back incase of bad leadership, hence asking the people to renew President Museveni's 2026 mandate.

‎She added that a lot has been done by NRM government and much more is in the pipeline in many sectors like roads, schools, health sectors among others which have enabled development."

‎On behalf of the Secretary General,  Amb. Nekesa handed over shs10 million  to the Bugweri Muslim SACCO leaders with a message of commitment to invest even more.

‎The Deputy Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa commended the SACCO vision bearers who seek to support the locals their wealth creation.

‎‎"I pray to Allah to give you strength and more vision to expand the SACCO to a bigger Microfinance," Sheikh Ali Waiswa said.

‎‎The function was also attended by KCCA Executive director Hajjat Sharifah Buzeki, the Iganga Woman Member of Parliament, Sauda Alibawo, RDCs and other local leaders.
