"As our national coordinator mentioned during our launch, the DA will have candidates from the presidency down to local councils. We have a strategic plan in place, which we will reveal soon," Mabikke explained.

He also suggested that former Leader of the Opposition and DA's national coordinator, Mathias Mpuuga, could be a potential presidential candidate.

"Mpuuga is certainly among those who could run for president, but we also have other strong candidates," he noted.

When asked if the group has sufficient resources for the upcoming general elections, the former legislator assured that they do.

Last December, Mpuuga, who previously served as the National Unity Platform's vice president for Buganda, launched the Democratic Alliance.

At that event, he indicated that the DA would initially operate as a civic platform before transitioning into an electoral platform.

In recent weeks, the platform has been appointing coordinators across the country, fueling speculation that the DA is preparing to present a presidential candidate.
