"Immediately the president left, the cooler which had been mounted on a lorry, also disappeared. That is why our proposal was to involve LCs in this venture but they also don't know," the youth said.

One of the youth said that many of the people who received the equipment are not known in the area.

"We just saw them for the first time and we were surprised when they introduced them to us as our leaders," she said.

Other youths said that some people had began soliciting money from unsuspecting youth to help them get a loan from a Sacco to which Museveni donated Shs 50 million.

Emmanuel Sserunjoji, the mayor of Kawempe said that the president was surrounded by dishonest people who want to reap him off.
