Maj John Kazoora died on Sunday.

The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among and her deputy, Thomas Tayebwa have extended condolences to the family of Maj John Kazoora, a decorated veteran of the National Resistance Army who died on Sunday.

In her condolence message, Among  extended her condolence message to MP Naome Kabasharira, children and family  for the death.

"I extend my heartfelt condolences and that of the Parliament of Uganda, on the passing of Major John Kazoora. He served his country as a freedom fighter and soldier in his early years, and later as a Member of Parliament for Kashari,"Among said.

She said that Kazoora groomed many young people into politics .

Deputy speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa on his X platform recounted his early connection with John Kazoora which dates back in 2005 and his contribution in the political Arena should not be underestimated.

"It is with sadness that I have learnt of the death of Hon. John Kazoora, former Member of Parliament for Kashari County. We became close in 2005 during the PAFO days when I was a youth political activist. Since then I have always called him Uncle John. He has left behind a strong legacy as an astute legislator and freedom fighter". Stated Thomas Tayebwa.

Others who sent condolences messages on X platform is first deputy prime minister and minister for Easter Africa who served as speaker of Parliament in the 9th and 10th parliament Rebecca Kadaga who hailed Kazoora for the contributions of democracy he brought to the country.

"Hon Kazoora was committed to democracy in Uganda, I send sincere condolences to My friend Hon Kabasharira."
