Salam Charity held a strategic meeting with key stakeholders in Katakwi district. The meeting brought together the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), District Internal Security Officer (DISO), district chairperson, executive members, elders, and Muslim leaders, including the district Qadhi and his executive team.
The objective of the meeting was to explore ways in which Salam Charity could be supported and advised in its developmental projects within the district. Hajji Karim Kaliisa, Managing Director of Salam TV and Salam Charity, highlighted the organization's commitment to serving humanity, regardless of religious affiliation.
Hajji Karim Kaliisa said. "Our projects, such as constructing mosques and distributing Zakah, will directly benefit Muslims, while initiatives like clean water projects, skilling programs, health projects, education, and capacity building for local leaders will benefit the entire community."
The district leadership, led by the RDC and DISO, expressed their enthusiasm for Salam Charity's initiatives and pledged to offer support and guidance. "We welcome Salam Charity's efforts in our district and promise to work closely with them to ensure the success of their projects," they stated. "We will provide guidance in line with the directives of the Vice President, H.E. Jessica Alupo, who is also our Woman Member of Parliament."
Katakwi district will serve as a flagship project for Salam Charity until next Ramadhan, marking a significant milestone in the organization's efforts to make a positive impact in the region. With its commitment to serving humanity, Salam Charity is poised to bring about meaningful change in the lives of people in Katakwi and beyond.
