Vulnerable children under the care of Florence Nakimbugwe in Kira Municipality received a special Easter treat, thanks to the generosity of PENO Events, a company specializing in event planning and rental services.
PENO Events, known for providing high-quality tents, chairs, and other event essentials, extended a helping hand by donating food and other essential items to Nakimbugwe and the children in her care. The donation, which included rice, cooking oil, sugar, and other groceries, was aimed at ensuring the children enjoyed a joyful Easter celebration.
Speaking during the handover, PENO Events Director Joseph Arinaitwe emphasized the importance of giving back to the community. He noted that the company has a tradition of supporting its loyal clients and vulnerable groups during the festive seasons.
"We decided to donate these items to Nakimbugwe after a well-wisher approached me, highlighting the challenges faced by these vulnerable children. We shall continue supporting them and others in need every year as part of our community outreach," Arinaitwe said.

He also encouraged parents across the country to be responsible and only give birth to the number of children they can afford to care for, cautioning against abandoning children and leaving the burden to caretakers like Nakimbugwe.
Florence Nakimbugwe, who has dedicated her life to caring for orphans and vulnerable children, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to PENO Events for their timely support.
"I thank PENO Events and Mr. Arinaitwe for their good heart. These items will help us celebrate Easter like any other family. I pray that the Almighty rewards them abundantly," Nakimbugwe said.
She further called on parents to take full responsibility for raising their children and urged other well-wishers and organizations to support her cause. Nakimbugwe shared that, although she has cared for over 200 children over the years, she continues to struggle with providing school fees and daily necessities for those currently under her care.
"I started this journey of taking care of vulnerable children at a young age. Despite lacking a permanent job, I have always tried my best. Sometimes good Samaritans and organizations come in to help, but it’s difficult for them to sponsor all the children," she explained.
Nakimbugwe noted that some of the children she’s raised have grown to become valuable members of society, and she hopes to continue making a positive impact with the help of the community.
The kind gesture by PENO Events has not only brightened the Easter celebrations for these children but also highlighted the importance of corporate social responsibility in uplifting the lives of vulnerable communities.
