In a heartwarming display of compassion and solidarity, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna, joined hands with All Saints Church and Kikungiri Archdeaconry to bring joy to the inmates of Ndorwa Government Prison.
As part of their annual Easter celebrations, they donated a bull to the inmates, symbolizing love, forgiveness, and inclusivity.
The ceremony, held at the prison premises in Kikungiri, Southern Division of Kabale Municipality, was attended by prominent religious and community leaders.
Ven. Emmanuel Namanya Bwagye, Archdeacon of All Saints Church–Kabale, and Rev. Can. Amos Tweteise, Archdeacon of Kikungiri Archdeaconry, were among the dignitaries present.
Ven. Emmanuel Namanya highlighted the church’s commitment to supporting inmates spiritually and through tangible acts of kindness.
“This annual gesture reminds inmates that they are not forgotten and that the message of Easter—resurrection and new beginnings—applies to everyone,” Namanya emphasized.
The inmates were overwhelmed with gratitude for the generous gift, which brought a festive atmosphere to the prison and fostered a sense of community during the holy season.
The Diocese of Kigezi pledged to continue such outreach programs, serving and uplifting all members of society.
