Jinja City Mayor Peter Alton Kasolo has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration from Kampala University.
Kasolo was among over 2,247 students who graduated on April 17, 2025, during the university’s 22nd graduation ceremony held at the Ggaaba campus in Kampala.
This marks Kasolo’s second degree, following his earlier qualification in Mass Communication. His latest achievement reflects his dedication to personal growth and public service.
Speaking at the ceremony, Joyce Moriku Kaducu, the State minister for primary education, who represented Rukia Nakadama, the Third Deputy Prime Minister, congratulated the graduates for their hard work and resilience.
She stressed the significance of education in shaping leadership and national development.
The ceremony also celebrated Kampala University’s 26th anniversary, highlighting its continued contribution to Uganda’s higher education sector.
The graduates were officially confirmed by the university’s Chancellor, Prof. Mondo Kagonyera.
Mayor Kasolo’s accomplishment has been widely celebrated in Jinja, with many praising his leadership and setting an example for young public servants.
However, on social media platforms in Jinja and Busoga, some people humorously remarked on his achievements, noting this as yet another milestone during his time as mayor.
In addition to his political career, Kasolo recently began working as a radio presenter at Busoga One FM. He is also seeking re-election for a second term as Mayor of Jinja.
Before entering politics, Kasolo was a comedian at Swengere Family and a radio presenter at Baba FM, with nearly two decades of experience in the media.
