Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director, Sharifah Buzeki, has praised the community in Nakawa Division for their efforts in making the city cleaner.
Earlier today, Buzeki joined the community for a successful waste collection and sorting exercise, which she described as a significant step towards achieving a cleaner Kampala.
"I'm grateful to the dedicated local leaders and residents who came together to help make our city cleaner," Buzeki said. "Let's all do our part by using dustbins and properly disposing of waste. Remember to segregate waste: place organic waste in one sack and inorganic waste in another."
Buzeki emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining a clean city. "Together, we're building the Cleaner Kampala we all want. Let's keep up the momentum!" she urged.
This initiative is part of KCCA's efforts to improve waste management in the city.
Buzeki has been vocal about the need for proper waste disposal practices, encouraging residents to adopt responsible habits and separate decomposable waste from recyclables.
As Kampala continues to grow and develop, the importance of effective waste management cannot be overstated. With the support of the community, KCCA is working towards creating a cleaner, safer, and more inclusive city for all its residents.
