Tororo Cement Industry has condemned a fraudulent cement production racket uncovered in TICAF Cell, Osukuru Town Council, Tororo District, after security forces seized over 700 bags of adulterated cement stored in two warehouses.

David Omaido, Senior Manager of Logistics and Utilities at Tororo Cement Factory, warned that such activities damage the company’s reputation and urged consumers to buy only from authorised dealers.

He advised customers to verify cement authenticity by checking for Uganda Bureau of Standards (UNBS) stamps and ensuring the packaging is 50-kilogram bags.

"We are working together with government arms to make sure that our products get to the market unadulterated. Our care is that people get the right thing," Omaido said, calling on security agencies to conclude investigations and prevent further counterfeiting.
